Last week my husband and I hiked the Smith Rock trail and it was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Hiking up the steep rock in 70 degree weather was more difficult than I had anticipated.
The trail is called Misery Ridge Trail and it definitely feels exactly that when you are hiking up it. However watching people climb the rocks made the hike not seem so hard. It was pretty incredible watching people climb to the top of these rocks.
When we finally reached the top the views made it all worth it. We had a sense of accomplishment that felt great.
The rest of the hike was smooth sailing. It was flat and along the cool river. It was so peaceful and calm. Not sure if I will be hiking straight up to the top again for awhile but I would definitely like to walk along the river more often. I highly recommend checking this gorgeous location out. These pictures really do not do it justice. The size of the rocks are enormous and striking to look at.
